Fully managed logistics and delivery of non-standard tubulars to North Africa

Requiring high-specification, non-standard and fully compliant tubulars for critical well operations, our client turned to rigtubulars to manage logistics and quality control under tight time constraints.

Inspection, ultrasonic testing and certification of all tubulars within three days

Coordination of six subcontractors and multiple handover points, managed by rigtubulars

End-to-end logistics and documentation handled efficiently

This project underlined rigtubulars’ expertise in delivering fully compliant solutions within tight deadlines. Key achievements included:

  • Completion of full inspection, ultrasonic testing and certification of all tubulars within just three days.
  • Full coordination of six subcontractors and multiple handover points, managed entirely by the rigtubulars team.
  • End-to-end logistics and documentation handled without requiring any client resource.

Client brief:

The client required high-specification, non-standard L8013%CR tubulars for a critical part of the well - materials that are not commonly held in stock and require rigorous quality standards due to the downhole environment.

The challenge:

Due to the client’s stringent QA/QC procedures, any pipe older than five years was required to undergo full re-inspection and recertification. Of particular concern was the minimum wall thickness, which required 100% ultrasonic testing along the full length of every pipe.

Why rigtubulars?

rigtubulars was chosen not only because of our access to immediate stock of this material, but also because of our proven capability to manage intricate logistics and quality control across a multi-partner supply chain. With a time-critical delivery to North Africa and six subcontractors involved, rigtubulars acted as the central point of coordination to ensure the tubulars met exact QA/QC requirements.

Our solution:

At the time of order, the required tubulars were located far from the rig site, and the client’s evolving QA/QC requirements introduced additional complexity. rigtubulars proactively identified solutions to address each concern and successfully managed multiple vendors and interfaces to keep the project on track.

As well as managing the logistics process, ensuring seamless coordination and on-time delivery to the rig site, rigtubulars delivered fully tested and inspected L8013%CR tubulars, complete with bump rings and installed in RAP frames, ready for deployment.

The outcome:

All testing and inspections were completed within just three days, with no additional resource input required from the client - ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

Although not the largest order, the execution of the project involved all members of the rigtubulars team throughout various stages of the process, showcasing our professionalism, precision and gold standard service across a complex, multi-stage execution.

Testimonial:

“rigtubulars went above and beyond to deliver the project under tight timelines, managing every aspect from inspection and compliance to logistics. The level of service and communication throughout was exceptional.”
